What Savvy does

Included in both plans

Both plans include everything below. The table above shows where they differ.

Your recipes within reach

Your recipes on every device.

Sign in on any device and every recipe is there.

Your AI can assist with your recipes *

Your assistant can do everything in Savvy that you can do. Ask it for a new recipe and it will save it direct to Savvy. Or plan a dinner party and get your AI to mix you up a menu.

Adding recipes

A recipe from a link.

Savvy reads the page and returns the ingredients, the method, the yield and the source. The story above the recipe and the advertising around it do not come with it.

A recipe from a photograph.

Photograph a book page or a handwritten card and Savvy transcribes it into ingredients and steps. It shows you what it read before it saves, because a model reading handwriting is sometimes wrong.

A recipe from a video.

A YouTube cooking video becomes a written recipe, with an ingredient list and timings against the steps.

Organising and sharing

Collections *

Keep recipes in named groups — a collection for each cuisine, season, or book author. Organise your recipes based on how you think about cooking.

Sharing collections *

Share a collection with someone so you both cook from the same page. You decide for each person if they read it, write in it, or run it with you. Without a plan, a person can open the first three collections shared with them, from anyone.

Mixes *

Gather several recipes into one plan — a Sunday roast, next week's dinners, the dishes for a party. Put them in the order you will cook them.

Recipes as ingredients *

A pastry dough, a stock, or a sauce are all the building blocks of a dish. Each one is its own recipe that you can link to from a recipe where it appears as an ingredient. Scale the dish and every part of it scales with it.

Measurements

Metric, by weight.

Cups, pinches and spoonfuls convert to grams, so two cooks reading the same recipe make the same thing.

Scaling.

Scale by servings, by the finished yield, or by the amount of one ingredient you have on the bench.

Ratios.

Flour weight, hydration and a sweetness percentage compute themselves, so bread, pastry and confectionery are adjusted rather than guessed at.

Support while you cook

Hands free cooking, step by step.

One step at a time, in large type, so your place is held while your hands are busy. Move by voice, and hear each step read aloud.

Mise en place by bowl.

Ingredients group by the bowl they go into, before the heat is on.

A cook log.

Record what you changed, how it tasted, and a photograph of what came out.

Creators and search

Channels.

Subscribe to a YouTube cooking channel and its new recipes arrive in your archive.

Search that reaches past Savvy.

When Savvy's own index has no answer, the search falls through to YouTube. Nobody is told a creator does not exist because Savvy has not indexed them.

Search the archive.

By technique, by a pair of ingredients, or by the kind of dish.

Your data

Export your data, in one file, any time.

The whole archive exports as open JSON — at any size, over any cap, on any plan.

* These features are not available without a paid plan.

Where the limits are

There is no trial.

The free plan does not expire and never asks for a credit card. That is the trial.

Reaching fifty recipes costs you nothing you already hold.

All fifty recipes stay readable, searchable, cookable and exportable for as long as the account exists. A paid plan is what carries you past fifty.

Leaving costs nothing.

The archive exports whole, at any size, on any plan.
