Terms of service
Last updated: September 2026
Savvy is a personal recipe archive. By using it you agree to these terms.
Access
You can use the tool on savvy.cooking without an account. Work made that way is held on your browser for thirty days and is limited to fifty recipes. A free account moves that work into an archive kept on every device. A paid subscription removes the caps and adds further features.
Your content
Recipes, notes, and other content you add to the app belong to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to store and use any content you add.
You grant Savvy the permission it needs to run the service on your content — to store it, process it, display it back to you, and send it to the third-party providers listed in Savvy's privacy policy. This permission exists only to operate the app and ends when you delete the content or your account.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose — storing and managing personal recipes. You must not attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the app's operation.
Subscription and billing
A paid subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it. The price and billing period are shown before you subscribe.
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep paid features until then.
Savvy may change the price. Savvy will tell you before a change takes effect, and the change applies from your next renewal — never to a period you have already paid for. If you do not accept the new price, cancel before that renewal.
Refunds. Ask within fourteen days of a purchase or a renewal and you get all of it back. You do not have to give a reason and you will not be asked for one. Write to the address in Contact, below. After fourteen days a part-used period is not refunded, except where the law requires it or where Savvy closes down (see Service availability). Savvy is sold through a payment provider who acts as the seller, so the refund is issued by them at Savvy's instruction.
What happens when a paid plan ends
Nothing you made is deleted or hidden. Your account returns to the free plan, and every recipe you have stays readable, searchable, cookable and exportable, however many you have. Export takes the whole archive, whatever its size, and it never costs anything.
What stops is adding and changing. The free plan holds fifty recipes in one collection you can write in, and fifty new recipes a month. If you have more than that — and you will, if you subscribed for any length of time — you can read everything and add or edit nothing until you are back under those limits. The other collections you own stay readable and are no longer writable. Deleting the writable one does not promote another; you make a new one.
What stops is also what the paid plan let you do. Steps read aloud, hands-free voice control, timers that keep running on a locked phone, an ingredient line that scales with the recipe it points at, named mixes, and reaching your archive from an AI assistant all stop working — including at the moment you are using them.
Two consequences reach other people, so they are stated plainly. Anyone you gave permission to write in your collections can only read them from then on, because granting that permission is part of a paid plan. And on the free plan you can open three collections that other people have shared with you — the three you were given access to first. Any beyond that are still listed, but you cannot open them or search them until you subscribe again.
Service availability
Savvy is provided as-is. It may be modified or interrupted at any time, and an individual feature may change or be withdrawn.
Closing down altogether is different. If Savvy decides to close down, you get at least 90 days' notice, export keeps working until the last day, and anything you have paid for and will not receive is refunded.
Automatically generated content
Savvy reads recipes and works out quantities, ratios, and conversions using automated systems. These can be wrong. Check anything that matters — particularly quantities, cooking temperatures, cooking times, and allergen information — before you rely on it. You are responsible for the safety of what you cook.
Limitation of liability
The app is provided without warranty of any kind. Savvy is not liable for any loss of data or other damages arising from your use of the service.
Changes to these terms
Savvy may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in Indiana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
